Security & privacy

Your garage stays yours.

Last reviewed July 2026

Moto Memo is where you log your vehicles — photos, service history, receipts, documents. Here’s plainly how we protect what you put in it, and what stays private.

Private by defaultEncrypted in transit & at restYou choose what's public

The short version

Everything you add is visible only to you unless you deliberately choose to share it. Nothing you upload becomes public automatically — not your photos, not your documents, not your vehicle details.

How your data is protected

The spec sheet

In transit
Encrypted on every connection. All traffic uses HTTPS/TLS, enforced so a browser never falls back to an insecure connection.
At rest
Stored on encrypted infrastructure. The database and your uploaded files are encrypted at rest by the managed platforms they run on.
Sensitive details
An extra lock on VIN & license plate. These are encrypted by the app before they reach the database, with the key held separately — so the database alone can never reveal them.AES-256-GCM
Your files
Photos & documents are served only to you. Every request runs a permission check first, and the underlying storage links are never exposed to the browser.
Passwords
We never see them. Sign-in is handled by a specialist authentication provider — including Google sign-in and multi-factor. Moto Memo never stores your password.
Sharing
Opt-in, and limited. If you publish a build sheet, it deliberately never includes your VIN, license plate, costs, or documents.

Underneath

Built on trusted infrastructure

Moto Memo runs on established, security-focused infrastructure and authentication providers that maintain their own security and compliance programs. On top of that, the app enforces a strict content-security policy and modern browser protections against common web attacks.

Being straight with you

Automated checks — not ad profiling.

To keep the community safe, images you upload pass an automated content-safety check. Optional tools like receipt scanning send that one image to an AI service to read the details back into your form. These process your content only to power the feature you asked for — we don’t sell your data or use your uploads to target advertising.
